Church History
Our work began in 1951 with a Sunday school, sponsored by Holly Lodge Baptist Mission. This Sunday school started at Whitehouse Junior School and news soon spread. It soon became so popular that in 1955 the fellowship at Holly Lodge decided to create an all-purpose church building on the Whitehouse Estate, which was opened in October 1957.
This new church was supported and founded by seven members of Holly Lodge.
In 1962, after the popularity of the church continued to build, a separate hall and kitchen were built onto the original building, and in 1967 we bacame an independent church, appointing our very own minister in 1968.
The Building
Since then the church has provided facilities for local people to use, as well as a place for worship, and in 1989 we built an extension that included a meeting room and toilets. We also added gas central heating in 2000.
